Reconciliation Candle Spell

It seems to be a pretty common request at the moment, for women to contact me wanting to get their men back. Perhaps it's the difficult economic climate that makes us want to stick it out, or maybe it's just that love helps take our minds off of money? Regardless, there are many ways to perform reconciliation love work - in this posting I'll discuss a typical reconciliation candle spell. In the next posting I'll describe a more coercive reconciliation spell with an edge.

Reconciliation Setting of Lights
One of the simplest ways to reconcile love that has been wounded is to set a light to the situation. Here's how to do it.

Ingredients/Tools:
  • 1 pink glass-encased candle
  • A photo of you and your lover together
  • A bottle of Reconciliation Oil
  • A tiny pinch of rose petals
  • Honey
  • A pair of balm of gilead buds preferably attached
  • A matched pair of lodestone grits, with a pinch of magnetic sand
  • A bamboo skewer
  • Tacky glue
  • A pen
  • A 4" x 4" square of paper
Instructions:
Take the photo of you two together and cut it out from the background so that only the two of you are on it. Put a very thin layer of glue on the back of the photo and affix it to the front of the glass encased candle. Next, take the 4" x 4" paper and write your lover's name 7 times on it, then turn the paper clockwise 90 degrees and write your name 7 times across his. Around this matrix of names, in one continual circle without lifting your pen, write "love me again" over and over to complete the circle. Go back and dot your "i"s. Anoint the paper in a 5-spot pattern (like the 5 side of a die) with Reconciliation Oil. Fold the paper toward you in half, turn it 90 degrees and fold in half toward you again, then repeat one more time. Tape this "name paper" to the bottom of the candle.

Now, using the bamboo skewer, being careful, poke 3 holes all the way down into the candle's wax. Into these holes, drip a few drops of Reconciliation Oil (less is better as it will cause burning problems if you flood it with oil). Place the two lodestone grits into the top of the candle, naming one after you, and the other after your lover. I like to state something like "As these lodestones are drawn to one another, so too does our eternal love draw us back together again". Feed the lodestones with a pinch of magnetic sand. Add in a pinch of the rose petals, the balm of gilead buds and a tiny drop of honey (tasting the honey as you drop it in, stating "As this honey is sweet to my tongue, so am I sweet to your heart, your mind and your loins!".

Now hold the candle up to the Lord and pray over it. Call to your lover BY NAME, that he look past his anger or hurt and remember the love he has for you. Call for him to return by your will to love you once again, and that you will do right by him. Pray this in the name of "the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!" Then seal the candle by tapping it three times on the counter top.

Light the candle and allow it to burn all the way down. Take note of any signs you might receive about his return, and keep in mind that reconciliation spells only work if you are in contact with your lover, so make sure to communicate with him once again.

Spell to Make Him Talk

I recently had a client hire me to do some spell work regarding an upcoming legal battle that was going to take place. Turns out my client's ex owes my client a lot of money and now has the audacity to take him to court and claim that my client INSTEAD owes HIM money. This is patently false, and my client has lots of documented evidence and accounting to prove the situation.

My client basically asked me to make sure the negotiations between their lawyers favored my client. The best route of action was simple - use the target's weaknesses against him. He is known for lying himself in circles, getting flustered and upset and looking like a fool in arguments. Below was my course of action regarding the situation.

Spell to Make Him Talk
My intent was to make the target get upset, confused and start arguing himself in circles of concentric lies. This would be a piece of cake.

First I created a name paper out of a photograph of the target. On the back, I wrote the target's name 9 times, then crossed his name 9 times with my client's name (so that my client would dominate him). I encircled this matrix with "Lie yourself in circles" written repeatedly as one circle around the matrix, never lifting my pen in the process. I 5-spotted the paper with Command! Oil, and folded it up three times in such a way that his mouth in the photo would be the only thing visible.

Secondly, I took a black skull candle (to get inside his head) and used a kitchen knife to carve out the mouth. I carved the target's name on the back of the candle along with his zodiacal sign, and the words "Lie yourself in circles". I then packed the mouth of the candle with red pepper (to force open his mouth), sulfur (to cross up his words), and deerstongue (to make him very eloquent in his lies). I dressed the candle with Command! Oil from my product line, and placed it on a saucer. I then sprinkled a circle, counter-clockwise, around the candle of poppy seeds (for confusion), black mustard seeds (to trip up his memory), and red peppers (to make him angry). I placed this saucer over the name paper, and burned the candle down on a Saturday.

The candle took 7 days to burn down (odd, because these candles normally burn quickly - so I took it as a sign that the progress would be slow but steady). When the candle was done burning, I lifted the saucer and found that the heat from the candle burned a black circle on the mouth of the photo - a PERFECT sign.

I gathered the left-overs together, including the saucer, and threw them into a crossroads over my left shoulder, shattering the plate and walked away never looking back.

How to Use Magical Baths

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean
Magical Baths are one of the simplest and most effective ways of purifying the self, preparing yourself for magical work, or for inviting in desired magical effects. In fact, Magical Bathing was one of the first spiritual exercises I was taught in my magical training - probably because it is simple, effective and the results are immediately noticeable.

The tradition of using herbs in cleansing and magical bathing is an old practice rooted in Judeo-Christian tradition and African religious traditions. Psalm 51:7 even reads: "Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." and the tradition of using hyssop in cleansing baths persists to this day. In fact it is one of the required ingredients in any uncrossing bath.

How to Bathe
Hoodoo's magical baths are not luxuriating tubs full of flower petals and perfumes that you sit and soak in. They are basins of herbal and mineral infusions that are dumped over the head quickly. There is something to be said for the shock of dumping water over your head versus slipping into a warm comfortable bath. It shocks your system and instantly changes your energetic vibrations.

Baths are typically done in the following manner:
  1. Set up two white candles burning on either side of your tub such that you'll have to pass through them as you step out of the tub.
  2. Heat up some water and allow your herbs to steep until they have transfered their essence and aroma to the water (as strong tea-like infusion is perfect) - strain the herbs out of the liquid
  3. Fill a big basin with bath-temperature water and add your herbal infusion to it (diluting it)
  4. Disrobe and take your basin into the bathroom
  5. Stand in the bath between the two lit candles and dump the bath over your body* making sure to capture some of your used bathwater either by plugging the tub, or by having a bowl at your feet that will catch some as it runs off of you
  6. Pray a psalm that is appropriate for your condition*
  7. "Squeegee" the excess liquid off of your body, step out of the bath between the two lit candles*
  8. Air dry
  9. Dress in clean clothes
  10. Take some of the captured bathwater outdoors and toss it over your left shoulder toward the east (toward the rising sun)* and walk away without looking back
*Conditions, adjustments and considerations
Above is the "general" outline for how baths are performed but there are some conditions and considerations depending on what you seek to get out of your bath.

Direction of pouring: Traditionally, if you are inviting in something (like drawing in love, or drawing in money or protection) you would pour the bath over your body starting at your feet then moving upward toward your head. If you are elminiating something (like taking a curse off of you, performing an uncrossing or reversing something back at an enemy) you would pour the bath over your body starting at the head and working your way downward. This same rule is used when "squeegeeing" the excess liquid off of your body. Squeegee downward to get things off of you, squeegee upward to invite energies into your life.

Time of bathing: Traditionally magical baths are performed before the sun rises. Invariably someone will complain about how early this is. To them I say, "tradition says, before the sun rises" but the idea is to do it as the first thing before you even speak to anyone.

Silence: Do not speak or utter a word until you are praying in your bath. Thus the first words you utter all day are your magical intent in the form of your psalm.

Psalm: Typically Psalm 23 is prayed while performing any type of bath, but there are others you can use according to your needs.
Psalm 23: The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Tossing out the Bath Water: Typically captured bath water that contains your former energetic condition is disposed of by tossing it toward the east, toward the rising sun. For cleansing baths - like Uncrossing Baths or Spiritual Purification Baths, the water can be tossed toward the east into a crossroads to disperse your former negative energy toward the four corners of the earth. For spells to wash someone out of your life, you can perform your bath at sunset and toss the water toward the west that the "sun may set" on that relationship.

Bathing for Consecutive Days
It is traditional to perform magical baths for several days in a row when performing an uncrossing or other magical cleansing. Typically, a 3-day, 7-day, 9-day or 13-day course of bathing will be prescribed depending on how bad the situation is. Major Uncrossing Baths will require a 13 day bath run. A simpler Love Uncrossing bath might require just 3 days worth of bathing. If you are performing a magical bath prior to a spell (like a Money Draw Bath before preparing a Money Draw candle) you only need to perform one bath the morning of your magical working immediately before you do your spell work.

The Crossroads Ritual

The Crossroads - a place where two roads meet at right angles to make a "+" shape - is considered a very powerful magical place. Often times, the remains of spells or tricks are disposed of in a crossroads in order for the energy of the spell to be dispersed to the four quarters of the earth. Bath water from cleansing baths is often tossed into the crossroads toward the rising sun in order to dispel and dissipate the influence that was taken off of the person. Other spells will require a portion of the spell's remains to be deposited at sequential crossroads leading either toward or away from the home to either attract or repel a person or an influence from a person's life.

The crossroads is a unique place in that it is a place that is between places (neither this way nor that way), and it is also a directional point from which decisions or directions must be made. Consequently, there is common association of crossroads to special deities or spirits found in many cultures - including West African cultures.

The Black Man at the Crossroads
In hoodoo, there is a traditional ritual performed in order to gain mastery over some manual skill - typically playing guitar, playing dice or singing/dancing. The most famous example of this is typically attributed to Robert Johnson who is said to have "sold his soul" at the crossroads to learn mastery at writing songs and playing the guitar. This attribution is a mistake, however, and it was actually his contemporary Tommy Johnson (no relation) who said this and performed this ritual. When asked, Tommy Johnson stated,

"If you want to learn how to play anything you want to play and learn how to make songs yourself, you take your guitar and you go to where a road crosses that way, where a crossroad is. Get there, be sure to get there just a little 'fore 12:00 that night so you'll know you'll be there. You have your guitar and be playing a piece there by yourself.... A big black man will walk up there and take your guitar, and he'll tune it. And then he'll play a piece and hand it back to you. That's the way I learned to play anything I want." (As told by LeDell Johnson to David Evans and quoted from Peter Guralnick's Searching for Robert Johnson, copyright © 1982, 1989.)

It is also important to note that the man encountered at the crossroads is black - as in the color black - not of African descent. This can be interpreted to be dressed completely in black, or that his skin is all black in color, etc.

The Crossroads Ritual
Accounts on this ritual vary a bit. Some folks say to go for 9 consecutive nights, others say 3. Some say to go before dawn and wait for the sun to come up. Here is my personal suggestion:

Perform this act for 9 consecutive nights. Take the item you wish you master with you to a crossroads (where two streets intersect at right angles to make a "+" shape) arriving about 15 minutes before midnight. When you arrive, sit on the corner and use your item (toss your dice trying to get a 7, play your guitar, etc.) the entire time you are there. Continue until about half an hour past midnight. While you are there, take note of black animals that might approach you, people dressed in black, etc. There is absolutely no need to do anything aside from showing up and doing your skill that you wish to master. The effort of showing up every night IS your offering to the spirit of the black man at the crossroads.

On the final night, a black man will approach you, take the object from your hand, show you how to use it, and hand it back to you. You've just made your pact with the Black Man at the Crossroads to become a master in your skill.

Some folks say that you are selling your soul to the Devil. Others say that you're making an alliance with him. My own personal experience has shown me that the spirit of the Black Man comes with you and inspires you in your work from that point forward, but your experience may vary.

Powders for Sneaky Spells and More

Magical powders consist of various herbs ground up VERY fine, and blended with either cornstarch or talcum powder. (Dr. E. Products uses cornstarch for their powder base because of the recently revealed carcinogenic qualities of talcum.) They are a great way to deploy magical tricks on people without them knowing, and are one of the most powerful but under-utilized methods in the hoodoo toolbox.

The Infamous "Hot Foot Powder"
One of the most infamous powder recipes in hoodoo is Hot Foot Powder. This blend of hot spices and sulfur is used to make someone get away from you. It's not a curse, per se, but it effectively gets someone to leave - no harm intended or manifested - by lighting a fire of motivation under their feet to move on.

Hot Foot Powder is typically laid in a person's tracks where they'll walk over it and be "poisoned through the feet" (afflicted with magic through the soles of the feet). The trick with having it undetected is to mix it with local dirt to mask its color. Hot Foot Powder (or any powder, really) can be sprinkled in a line across someone's doorstep, at the foot of their driver's-side door to their car, across a walkway leading up to their home, or even a pinch in the footwell of their car or under their desk at work. You can also put a pinch in their shoes if they are the type that leaves their shoes laying around or outside their home, or you can even dust their door knobs to their homes so that they get the powder physically on them for maximum effect.

Love Me NOW! Spell Using Powders
This spell works best if you have regular communication with someone and already have a friendship in place. Write a letter by hand to your intended target. Turn the letter over and sprinkle some Love Me NOW! Powder on the back of it. Run your four fingers over the powder in a wavy pattern to dress the back of the letter. Shake off the excess then flick the paper with your index finger to get the remaining powder to fly off. Fold up the letter with the dressed side on the outside so your target will touch the dressed paper when he opens the letter. Seal the envelope with a dab of your own urine or sexual fluids. Mail the letter to your target and when he opens it, he will be affected by the powder and your personal concerns and start looking at you with loving eyes.

Neutralizing Evil With Powders
If you find some kind of evil spell left on your doorstep, or you see that someone has tried to lay a line of powder for you to cross over, do not step on it. Instead, sprinkle some Evil BEGONE! Powder or Fear Not to Walk Over Evil Powder over that line while praying for the trick to be unraveled by the just and watchful eye of God. Sweep the mess away and follow it up with a Chinese Floor Wash to cleanse away the remaining mess.

How to Sprinkle Powders
Powders are typically sprinkled from your own hand while calling out the intended target by name. It is important to call them by name, for it is the only person that the trick will affect. Anyone else who walks over the powder or touches it will not be affected. Also remember to blend the powder with local dirt to mask its color. Powders are typically sprinkled while walking backward in an odd number of steps while praying for the intended magical effect.
